Scrounging around the last week for a quick appetizer recipe, I discovered I really don't DO appetizers.
I did a speedy online search and found a goody over at Kraft Recipes.
This is what I brought to the neighborhood (aka Family) New Year's Eve Party:
I felt I must share the recipe in the event any of you are ever in a bind.
De.lic.ious.
I've put my changes in parenthesis.
Barbecue Bacon Party Spread
2 packages cram cheese, softened
1/2
cup Barbecue Sauce (Hunt's Honey Hickory Barbecue Sauce)
1
pkg. (2.52 oz.) Fully Cooked Bacon, chopped (precooked, crumbled bacon)
1
small tomato, chopped ( I omitted and added 1/2 cup chopped red pepper instead)
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
3
green onions, sliced (I don't like onions, so I omitted)
1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
SPREAD cream cheese onto platter.
DRIZZLE with barbecue sauce.
TOP with remaining ingredients.
SERVE with your favorite crackers.
Mmmmm, that looks so good! But I'm not sure if we can be friends since you don't like onions. I eat onions pretty much every day!
ReplyDeleteOh another easy and delicious appetizer is bacon wrapped dates. You just buy a bag of pitted dates (I think Dole makes them) and wrap a slice (or half slice) of bacon around each date, secure with a toothpick, then put on a tray and bake in the oven until the bacon is cooked . So yummy!
ReplyDeleteSarah...This looks great! And like you, I don't do appetizers that much either! I usually take a sweet baker type of thing to parties. (Which we almost never go to anyway because I am such a homebody...but anyway...)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. I am putting this down for Superbowl. The kids will love it! Have a wonderful Wednesday, friend!
I love fun food like this but only on special occasions or at parties. Looks yummy and thanks for sharing!
