Have you tried these? I've recently purchased another bag from Sam's Club and have a tough time trying to stop consuming them! I've also tried the brands from both Trader Joes and Aldi and love them all.
Maybe it's the fact that I think I am eating something healthier than chips and still get my 'crunchy' fix that makes me continue to stick my hand back in the bag for yet another handful (or two).
They're worth the try in my opinion.
Anyone else? What's your favorite quick snack?
Are they lower in calories?
ReplyDeleteHow many carbs for how many?
Might have to make a trip to Sam's Club!
They say they have 30% less fat than the leading potato chip. They are at 130 calories for 38 straws and that's 15g carbs.
ReplyDeleteWe just got our bag over the weekend at your local Sam's there, Jamie. Good luck.
Hmmmm, we LOVE veggie chips/sticks! While not lower in calories than all chips, they are still healthier. They are made from veggies and have less fat & chemicals in them than standard potato chips have.
ReplyDeleteAnd they have more nutrients as well. Usually more fiber.
Okay, yeah, we like 'em, can you tell?
I think one of our favorite quick snacks though has to be pretzels. We love 'em around here. Dipped in cool whip, dipped in fiesta ranch, dipped in tuna, you name it! YUMM-O for the pretzel!!
There a fav. here for Pauly. He loves the crunch, and I "feel" like he's actually eating something vegetable related.
ReplyDeleteWe eat tons of fruit for "dessert" here. I actually don't give them an afternoon snack anymore because they weren't eating dinner well, so they just get a morning snack around 9 - and it's usually fruit snacks, which are NOT healthy, but not the worst treat either.
ReplyDeleteMy crunchy/salty treat is 100 calorie packs of Baked Cheetos- yum!
I actually just picked up some Snap Pea Crisps at Trader Joes the other day and they are YUMMY!!! Very addicting though. 150 calories for 22. Maybe not the best snack, but a better alternative than chips. My latest snack is a tortilla with tomato basil hummus and fruit smoothie made with organic soymilk and frozen fruit. Sounds like I am turning into a Vegan...haha!
ReplyDeleteI might have to try these. I love chips......yikes!
