I'm Ba-a-ck......

Sometimes time away guarantees a return, eventually.

In my absence from this place I realized that the time away gave me time to just settle in with daily life at home. Over time I missed each of you more, despite still reading from you or commenting at your places.

someecards.com - I miss you like a person on a cleanse misses their sanity.

In truth, most of the over three months hiatus I didn't really miss blogging. I did miss, however, using my creative juices or just sharing with you via my blog. At the time when I disappeared to places unknown, I just felt like I lost my mojo and it didn't really matter if anyone read from me again. Truthfully, in one day it was just gone. Poof! I just didn't care.

While this sounds like I went off the deep end or went into depression or got dropped off at Crazyville, it wasn't that at all. I just needed to step back. Many several of you checked in with me and said how much you missed me here (HI Mom!!). There was even the guess that perhaps my lack of posting had a hidden meaning, the nine month variety. Sorry, that's not it either. No announcement here.

I contemplated many days writing a Good Bye post or shutting down my blog, but instead I just left it idle. Then, through prayer and contemplation, last week something in me began to stir again. The eagerness was back and it felt time to reconnect with my buddies.

There will be changes and my blog reading list has dwindled considerably. I had to find that in between place where I was encouraged by reading from you, but not left feeling inferior and less than best of a mom/woman of God. These months have helped me settle in to less stress and less obligation, which I greatly needed.

So, from here I'll move forward slowly. Some weeks I may post nothing, but I'll learn to be ok with that. It may only become a blog full of daybooks, recipes, Theme Thursdays, Jamie's Thankfuls, Quick Takes, random stuff from here and an occasional thoughtful post. Those are, after all, easiest to write and most often most of what I like to read from you. Choose to keep reading if you like and Welcome Back if you are an old friend.

I've missed you.

  2. I am so glad that you are back...I've been very worried. Regardless of how frequently or infrequently you choose to post, I'm just grateful to learn that everyone is okay!

  3. So good to hear from you. I've stepped way back in my blogging, too. I check in with my "friends" and comment on their blogs, but just don't have the time to pull together my thoughts on my own blog lately. Do what you can, when you can...we'll all be here with comments for you when you're ready! :-)

  4. My dear Sarah...
You know how you have that friend that is so dear to you that you can go months without talking, but when you get together again, it is as if no time has passed and you are able to pick up exactly where you left off?

You, my girl, are that friend.

    Welcome back.

I will be here whenever and whatever you post. : )

  5. So, so, SO GLAD you are back! I have missed you. Don't doubt that it didn't cross my mind to make a day trip up to see you and the kids just because I missed you! (And yes, I still might do that!) You are a friend of the heart Sarah and I am ever so grateful for your little corner of holiness and joy in the blogosphere. Did I say I was glad you were back? :)

  6. I, for one, am so happy you are back. I truly missed your writings. For me, it is a way to see your gorgeous family, see what's happening in your frozen tundra, get AWESOME diaper rash cream recipes (ha ha…I really think of you every single time I put that cream on her…but many more times as well ;)

I'm so glad you didn't delete but stepped back instead. Keep the time for God and your family first. The other stuff will fall into place. Your sweet and gentle spirit lifts so many readers…more than you realize!!

Welcome back, my dear, sweet friend!!

  8. Well, you KNOW, I'm glad you are back!! (I was one of those people that inquired with you!)

Through the years, we've all been through this (I think). It's always good to step back and reassess what we really want and need.

I've slowed on my blog reading. I feel like I've betrayed people by not reading as much anymore, but I just don't have the time. It's a hard balance.

I quit checking bloglovin' and just put my faves on bookmarks...checking the old fashioned way. Gosh I miss Google Reader. Oh, well.

Welcome back!! I second what Patty said, not the butt cream thing, but that you didn't delete. And I second what Billie Jo said, that we can pick up where we left off.

Only I live in the same state and can actually maybe see you sometime...like for our February First Friday Mass? I'm planning on soup here afterward and sledding!! (please weather cooperate!!)

(I'll send an email when I make the announcement)

  10. I was so excited to see your post in the few blogs I have running through my reading list.
Gosh, I love your honesty and that you made a great decision for you and your family because you are a great mom!
Even though I'm newer to the motherhood and wife thing, I can totally appreciate having to step back, pray, evaluate, and trust.
Thank you for sharing and the blog looks great!

  11. Missed you! Didn't think you would be gone forever, but sensed you just needed a break to focus on real life and your little cuties. I, too, love the example of NO PRESSURE! That's what blog readers are for. A daily presence is really not needed (IMHO).
