Overheard:: Say What?!

"Next year for my birthday, I think I want to get an iPad."

This was said while my six year old was lazing around on the couch playing Angry Birds on my iPod Touch.

My, my, how different things are from when I was a kid. I remember happily sitting in the corner reading a book for hours. Who knew back in the 1980's and 1990's how techy our culture could become?

There, now don't I sound old?

By the way, in case you're wondering...I do have limits and if anyone is getting an iPad around here, it's gonna be mama. IF I really was into wishing for an iPad.

Little did I know back in the 80's and 90's how techy I would become.

  1. I know...it's crazy! My 7 year old asked me yesterday if I had a smart phone to scan the Toys r Us ad. I told him I only had a dumb phone!

  2. I remember when I was teaching school about 13 years ago and a student asked if I have "dial up" or AOL? I was like "...AOL what?" Look how far we have come. Kind of scary at times. Had to laugh though...your house sounds like all homes that have children. Sally has been saving money to put toward a Kindle. There is a new one coming out the end of November that she pre-ordered. She is my book worm and has already found a huge selection of kindle editions from her reading list. She's excited. Have you tried one of those yet? It will be a first in our house.
