In Case You're Wondering

No baby yet. I'm still at home. Still pregnant. Still waiting.

Not really a startling revelation, but it's further proof that God's plan and timing are all in His hands and not mine. He and baby apparently are in cahoots together.

There must still be a lot for me to learn on waiting and patience. This baby has been a long time coming and while we spent so much time/effort making sure baby stayed in long enough, now we can't get him/her to come out!!

Ah, the humor in it all.

In other news, baby's heart rate is around 150-160, I am dilated to 5 cm and baby is sitting nice and low so when the time does come, it will hopefully go fast. Well, not TOO FAST. I am also scheduled for induction on Friday if nothing happens before them.

Either way, Baby Blessing should arrive by the weekend!! Hooray!! I can't wait to lay my eyes on little one and hold him/her safely in my arms.

The Incredible Shrinking Toilet

Okay, so who's been secretly slipping into my house and lowering my toilets?

C'mon, fess up.

Because seriously, somebody's been doing it.

How is it that my toilet seems to be getting lower and lower to the floor by the day?? And especially so during the night when I waddle aimlessly in the dark wander from my bedroom to the bathroom?

I'm a (relatively) tall woman, but this baby belly is really crampin' my style when it comes to taking care of business. But then, at almost a full 40 weeks pregnant I suppose that's to be expected.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

I'll scoff no longer at those raised toilets for elderly/sick. Right now one of those is looking pretty enticing.

Motherless: Book Review

Read my thoughts on Fatherless, the first book in this trilogy by clicking here.

The short response to this book: Enjoyed it and loved it as much as the first!!

Can I mention how sad I was when I turned the last page? VERY.

Motherless by Brian J. Gail continued to build on the story that Fatherless created and is set about twenty years later, leaving it written in present day and with many current event references. The same characters I came to know in the first book are followed once again and play the major roles. I may have developed an even greater fondness for my favorite, Maggie Kealey.

You may recall that Fatherless took on the task of exposing the harshness in the birth control and entertainment industries. Motherless takes a different, although not completely unrelated direction while focusing emphasis more on reproductive technology, as well as embryonic stem cell research.

If you are not open to the realities of stem cell and embryonic research or reproductive technologies of today and you'd rather be in the dark, then I suggest you not read this book. I think there is more truth within these pages than we may even begin to be open to in the realities of in our modern day and age.

Do not lose heart though. This book is also filled with hope and possibilities of what could be in health care, if but even a few stand for what is right, good and moral. Mr. Gail again has not left this book without inspiration, heart wrenching realities and faithfulness exhibited by its characters. Motherless once again draws in the reader just as Fatherless did: to examine our lives, morals, values and hearts.

I highly recommend reading the first book and the following with this one. Be sure you have plenty of time to devout to them, since I doubt that you will be able to put them down.

I'm eagerly awaiting the final book, Childless, which is due to be published later this Fall.

I received this book as a Christmas gift from my husband who bought it from Human Life International.

If you are interested in reading more reviews and more about the author, you can find it at Fatherlessbook.com.

Boy Or Girl?

Any guesses?

With Baby Blessing being the 'tie-breaker' in our household, I certainly am anxious to see which gender God sent us!

I am so eager to find out and to finally put a name with this little one. With several names on our list for each gender, it certainly will be interesting to see him or her and finally call them by name.

That alone will make labor & delivery all worth it.

Humor me and let me know what you think! Leave a comment with any last guesses!

Confession: There's An App For That?!

Did you read the App Spotlight over the weekend at Faith & Family Live?

Go check out Lisa's review, if you haven't already on the Confession: A Roman Catholic App.

As for me, I was intrigued and decided that at only $1.99 it was worth the try.

With the unique feature of creating separate users and passwords, each family member is able to use it privately. You can flip through your own examination of conscience and mark off items in each particular Commandment category.

Hey, why not use the availability of these modern means of communication, techie talk and gadgets to our advantage in our rich Catholic faith?

Do you have a favorite Catholic App you use? I'd love to hear about it!

What I Know For Sure

It's February!!

That means that THIS MONTH at some point:

Reed will rush me to the hospital (ahem, have I mentioned I'm already at 3cm??).

We'll deliver a precious little one.

We'll finally meet our new baby boy OR girl.

My arms will once again hold a newborn.

Life will drastically change.

Our household may be turned upside down.

But man, I sure am looking forward to it!!

I think the amethyst birthstone will be a beautiful addition to my Mother & Child pendant.

**Pardon the giddiness with all the baby postings. Sorry to keep mentioning it, but I just can't help it!
